Nia, like Shamanism, helps mind, body and Spirit come in to balance. Like the grounding benefits of earthing, Nia is practiced barefoot, and it inspires and guides us to listen to the wisdom of our bodies, to intuitively discover movements that liberate us and make us feel good, and it connects us to community.
Come and surrender to the flow of the moment with the help of global grooves and tribal beats, assisted by live drumming and didgeridoo playing. Channel courage to liberate yourself from the way you have danced in the past, connect with your inner fire, and your animal nature. Release primordial sounds, and express your passion.
We will open the ceremonial space with smudging, honouring and calling in the energies of the sacred seven directions, and opening our hearts with alchemic, ceremonial-grade cacao medicine. We will begin by moving through the five stages of Nia, the self-healing practice that mirrors the five stages of human development: Embryonic, Creeping, Crawling, Standing and Walking. We will connect and flow with the 4 elements: Earth, Air, Water and Fire. And we will connect and shape-shift into different Spirit Animals, and embody their energies, abilities and movements.
We will conclude the evening with a reflection circle before closing the ceremonial space by honouring and thanking the 7 directions.
