What:  Fundamental Laws and Rights Class

Where: PA Historical Society (2/27, 3/6, 3/20) & National Constitution Center (3/27 - 5/22)

When: Wednesdays beginning February 27, 2019

Time: 1.00 p.m. - 3.00 p.m.

We live in a country that stands on the value of the rule of law and are expected to comply with those laws and rules; however, how does one comply if one doesn't know the applicable rule or law?  Unfortunately, ignorance is no defense of the law.

This class will provide students with a foundation and platform from which to launch applicable research as it relates to all areas of personal rights.  Students will be guided through primary, secondary and tertiary sources - establishing a concrete understanding of sourcing.  They will begin their time at the NCC with a tour specialized with the day's historical content and will participate in a guided workshop utilizing various platforms accessing essays and articles supporting the day's content.  After gaining an historical foundation and developing skills necessary to think critically, students will participate in a facilitated civil dialouge with their peers and reflect on their new understandings.

The first three (3) classes will be held at the Pennsylvania Historical Society (1300 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA) and the remaining eight (8) will be held at the National Constitution Center.
