We are excited to announce the new date for the 15th Annual Ronald McDonald House Charities Golf Fore A Cause Classic is Monday, September 21, 2020.

This event will take place outside at the Quarry Golf Course with additional COVID-19 safety precautions.

Join us for a fun-filled day to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Antonio. We provide for families in their time of need. We will have a shotgun start followed by a delicious lunch, awards ceremony, raffle, and silent auction.

Welcome

We look forward to you joining us for the 15th Annual Golf Fore a Cause, benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Antonio. Thank you for your patience with rescheduling due to COVID-19. For your safety, we have implemented best practices for golf events including daily cart cleaning, reduced touchpoints, and removal of bag drop services. The luncheon and awards ceremony will be held outside practicing appropriate social distancing Breakfast and lunch will be individually packaged.

Itinerary

Registration: 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM Driving Range Opens: 7:30 AM

Shotgun Start: 8:30 AM Tournament Awards and Luncheon: 12:30 PM

Tournament Rules

The player format is a four-person scramble

Mulligans may be purchased for $15 each or 2 for $25 to be deducted from the final team score. We have some exciting new games for you this year and Quarry Golf Course has club rentals available. Please phone to reserve at 210-824-4500.

Dress Code

Standard golf attired recommended. No denim cutoffs. Jeans are allowed.

Soft spikes only.

Men: Hats forward, tucked-in collared shirts, cargo shorts approved by pro staff.

Women: Sleeveless shirts must have a collar. Short-sleeved shirts do not require a collar.

Inclement Weather

If the weather becomes a concern, please call 210-824-4500 for the latest on the status of play. Bad weather in the morning (i.e. frost, rain, etc.) could affect the shotgun start time. In cases of inclement weather, we will contact you via email by 6:30 AM on the morning of the tournament with updated status. In the event of a rainout or weather event, The QGC will provide certificates for rounds of golf for all players to come back at a time of their choosing.

Hotel Accommodations

We are delighted to offer a discounted room rate ($129.00) at the Wyndham Garden Riverwalk. As a reminder, your cut-off date is September 7, 2020. Room reservations after that date are not guaranteed for our contracted group rates. Reservations per the contract are to be made by individual attendees. Last year a family checked into one of our Houses every 4.5 hours and saved over $2,000,000 in meal and lodging expenses. Your support is needed more now than ever before.

When 5-year-old Rene was hospitalized in San Antonio for surgery to remove a tumor in her brain, the last thing her family from Victoria wanted to deal with was finding and paying for living accommodations, meals, and someplace to do laundry. Thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Antonio, they didn’t have to.

Rene’s parents and grandparents stayed at the Ronald McDonald House for 13 days while Rene recovered. The family was relieved of the financial burden of paying for hotel rooms, eating out, and had the company and support of other families facing similar challenges.

Built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child, Ronald McDonald House operates charitable facilities that provide safe temporary living accommodations for critically ill children and their families while receiving medical treatment in the San Antonio area.

Last year, 2080 families were able to find comfort when they needed it the most in one of our RMHC Houses in San Antonio or our Family Rooms in Laredo. They enjoyed 19,530 meals and snacks served by the loving hands of volunteers.
