This session will cover the basics of risk management and hazard management. It also covers the types of dangers and how to establish your risk management context. You can review the COSO ERM block and the ISO 31000 risk management standards to wrap up the session.

 

Risk Management Activities

This session will provide the foundation for the rest, the seven R's as well as the four T's in risk management.

 

Assessment of Risk

Next, participants will learn how to create a simple risk assessment process. Participants will also be working on a case that will be used throughout the day.

 

Response to Risks

Participants will be taught the four T's for responding to dangers.

 

Resourcing Controls

Participants will then explore control options that could be implemented to reduce risks.

 

Reaction Planning

Participants will be provided with a checklist to help them plan for an emergency.

 

Monitoring and Reporting

Participants will discuss reporting hierarchies as well as prerequisites in this session.

 

Reviewing and Assessing the Framework

Participants will be provided with a checklist to help them review their risk management programs at the end of the session.

 

Course Wrap Up

Students will be able to ask questions and create an action plan at the end of each module.
