IStructE UAE Regional Group Committee is inviting you to a webinar by Mostafa El Hosseiny PE, General Manager - Engineering Services, Fischer Fixings Middle East and Tinu Thomas, Technical Manager – UAE, Fischer Fixings Middle East on the topic “Rethinking Connection designs in concrete”.

Due to advancing digitalization or Building Information Modelling, there has been an Increasing demand on planning security on fixing technology. Cast in Channel are systems where a channel with anchors is embedded into the concrete during the casting. These channels can be used to attach structural and non-structural components to the building. It could be used for fixing applications of Façade, Elevators, Plant and Power Plant, Metro and Rail tunnel as well as Utility tunnels. No drilling required, no damage of reinforcement bars, no delay in fixation etc… the list of advantages extends.

The preinstalled anchor significantly reduces the total operating costs when combined with Building Information Modelling.  The webinar showcases the common applications and benefits of cast in channels and discuss differences between cast in channels and conventional fixings. The webinar would also cover codes, design concepts, case studies and an easy-to-use design tool.

    Mostafa is a Structural Engineer and certified Professional Engineer from Egypt. He is a member of Egypt Engineers Syndicate. He has experience in the designing of steel and concrete structures, design of facades, MEP support designs. He has around 20 years of experience in the field of construction out of which 12 years of experience is in the field of fixings. He has been associated with Fischer for past 12 years and is now heading the Engineering team across the middle east. Mostafa strongly believes in sharing Engineering knowledge to customers as well as using his engineering expertise to optimise solutions which are safe, reliable and economical.
    Tinu Thomas
    Technical Manager - UAEFischer Fixings Middle East
    Tinu is a Mechanical Engineer from India. He has experience in the designing of anchors, MEP support systems, interior finishing applications and design of fire fighting pipe lines. He has around 14 years of experience in the field of construction out of which 11 years of experience is in the field of fixings. He has been associated with Fischer for past 8 years. Tinu now leads the engineering team in United Arab Emirates. He is also involved in relationship building with consultants, designs and client engineers and share know how and latest innovation on Fischer range of products and latest technology.
