This event is hosted by the Essex County Unit.
New to a Unit event? NASW-NJ has 12 volunteer-led, county-based Units that hold regional events around the state of New Jersey for members in that area. (However due to the public health emergency, Unit events will be held virtually until further notice!) These events are planned and coordinated by an appointed volunteer Chair and Co-Chair, as well as a Regional Representative from NASW-NJ’s Board of Directors. The Essex County Unit Chairs are Felicia Fdyfil, LCSW (hopetsllc@gmail.com), and Ravjit (Ruby) Sekhon, LCSW (rsekhonlcsw@gmail.com), and the Northeastern Regional Representative is Sierra Spriggs, LSW (sms2384@columbia.edu).
Unit events are a fun, informative way to grow your network near your home or workplace. These events are one of the many benefits of NASW-NJ membership, but we do invite all mental health professional to join us at this meeting. Learn more about our Units here.
Restorative Yoga For Social Workers
Date: Monday, October 5th at 7:00pm
Zoom login information will be emailed to you once you register.
Please join the NASW-NJ Essex Unit for a time to connect, relax, and reset for our kick off yoga class facilitated by Nichole McCarthy.
Nichole is a fellow social worker who attributes much of her personal and professional growth to her decade-long yoga practice. She completed her yoga teacher training in the spring of 2017 with the Hudson Yoga Project located in Hoboken, NJ. Her passion is helping others find flexibility in both the mind and body by using the ancient practices of yoga and meditation as tools for healing and transformation.
This will be an open-level yoga class. Experience may be helpful, but not necessary. The class will consist of yoga postures (with modifications offered), breathing exercises and guided meditation. All are welcome at this free event!
