Burnout is a serious issue whose endpoint can entail mental confusion, psychosocial distress, and physical collapse. Burnout is pervasive and a sober reminder of the significant stresses inherent in our profession and among other healthcare profession communities. Becky Wong PharmD, MBA is the New Jersey Senior Medical Science Liaison at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development and Commercialization , Inc. Her field-based specialty is in Neuroscience. Wong earned her B.S. in Biology and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Master of Business in Healthcare Administrative at Drexel University LeBow College of Business. Her pharmacy experience includes practice in community, academia, and hospital settings for more than 8 year and 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She had direct experience with patients, patient care providers, management care companies, and medical affairs operations. She is the former Director of Pharmacy at Rockford Center in Newark, Delaware and Fairmount Behavioral Health System in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For more than 5 years, she led her teams in the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services at her acute in-patient psychiatric facilities. She was appointed by Comprehensive Pharmacy Services as the Advisor for New Director of Pharmacy. She has served as a Clinical Preceptor of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience for the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy, and Thomas Jefferson University School of Pharmacy. Wong is a member of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American Pharmacist Association, the Association of Healthcare Administrative Professionals, College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, and a committee member at the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies.
