Rebel Heart Blues (RHB) started as a simple idea in 2017 marking the one-year anniversary of the local blues scene, Rebel Blues, in Cork. Organised by Mike, Yvonne and Laura G, the first edition was a small workshop aimed primarily at the local scenes.
This new edition began as wishful thinking during a week-long blues camp among the mountains of Auvergne, France. A niggling regret that RHB hadn’t evolved beyond a one-time local event – an itch that needed to be scratched!! Back home, the itch evolved to an idea and later into a plan of action! And so, Rebel Heart Blues ‘2nd Beat’ was born.
What is Rebel Heart Blues? It is the dream of a small blues scene, to recreate the magical social atmosphere, inspiring workshop classes, and dance friendships, often found at blues events in major European cities.
