Frontline Preparedness for Special Pathogens

Learning Objectives:

· Describe the responsibilities of a frontline facility to safely identify, isolate, and inform relevant authorities about patients potentially infected with a high consequence pathogen

· Describe the importance of early recognition of potentially infectious individuals

· Describe the PPE ensemble and role of the trained observer in the don/doff process for high consequence infectious disease

· Describe the necessary steps of Category A waste management for a frontline facility
