Tuberculosis Overview

Objectives
·         Review TB transmission, pathogenesis, and epidemiology of the disease. 
·         Reinforce knowledge of administrative, environmental, and personal                   protective controls specifically related to TB
       Learn strategies for creating a culture of prevention within a clinic setting

Speaker

Lana Kay Tyer, RN MSN

 

Lana has been the Washington State Department of Health TB Nurse Consultant for the past three years. Through this position, she supports TB nurse case management, contact investigations, and technical assistance and training to all the county health departments in WA State. As the Clinical Coordinator of WA State TB Project ECHO, she coordinates TB case consultation through this innovative tele-mentoring learning environment with county and community health care professionals.
