Psyche’s Quest

A Mythic Exploration of the Heroine’s Journey, for Women on the Path to Self

A 2-day intensive workshop with mythologist & storyteller Catherine Svehla Ph.D.

Friday September 13th- Sunday September 15th, 2019

Harmony Hall, Joshua Tree Retreat Center in Joshua Tree, CA

Where are you in your journey to self-fulfillment?

You probably know something about the “Hero’s Journey,” Joseph Campbell’s brilliant revelation of a mythic pattern that still infuses our lives--- or rather, men’s lives.

The Hero’s Journey is now ubiquitous, but it doesn’t really speak to the life experience of women.

Women and men do not travel the same path or face the same psychic tasks and challenges. It’s up to us to explore and honor our life experience, feelings, and dreams.

It’s up to us to determine the meaning of our lives, through deep reflection on our lived experience.

It’s up to us to uncover the contours of our quest, define our purpose, and tell our story.

In this 2-day experiential workshop we will explore your journey to self-fulfillment, drawing on the ancient myth of Eros and Psyche and the words of wise women. We’ll use these time-honored tools:

·      Conversation and story work

·      Guided meditation and journaling

·      Art and ritual

Consider where you’ve been and what lies ahead, aided by a magical circle of women.

We will gather Friday evening from 7-9 pm. The all-day session on Saturday is 9am- 5pm. Sunday we begin again at 9am and finish at 1pm. Beverages and snacks are provided; you bring your lunch Saturday. The pool and spa will be available after our session on Saturday and Sunday.

The Psyche’s Quest workshop will be limited to a max of 18 women to insure the integrity of our process.

Workshop tuition is $245. Be an early bird and register before August 15th to pay only $195.

Registration closes September 10th

Workshop fee includes all materials, snacks, and use of the retreat center pool and spa (next to our meeting room) on Saturday and Sunday. Lodging is available at local hotels, at one of the amazing airbnbs in the area or call the retreat center at 760-365-8371 for on-site accommodations.

It's going to be an amazing, energizing, heart-opening adventure.  Come along!
