We would like to invite you to participate in a Professional Development Forum which will take place on August 1-2, 2019 in Columbus Ohio at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Columbus Airport (2886 Airport Dr, Columbus, OH 43219)  This forum is not an open event and has been coordinated as a special opportunity for you because of your current and/or past status as an Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) grantee and active participation within a specific Learning Community.  The purpose of this event is to support Ohio’s prevention professionals by improving knowledge, skills and cultivating leadership important to your current position and or future career performance.  There will be a variety of workshops to choose from as well as coaching and networking opportunities that focus on increasing your capacity and strengthening your professional development.  

 

This Professional Development Forum is being offered through Ohio’s Strategic Prevention Framework Partnerships for Success Initiative (SPF-PFS) Carryover Project which is funded by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) administered by OhioMHAS.  Please join us as we work to build workforce capacity for a more integrated, culturally appropriate public health infrastructure that meets the needs of all Ohioans. 

The registration fee is $50 and scholarships are available to cover overnight lodging accommodations, meal per-diem as well as mileage.  **Please note all SPF-PFS grantees are ineligible for scholarships as this is already within their current budget.  Please contact Christi Valentini-Lackner for more information on scholarships at Christi.ocam@gmail.com.

Cancellation policy

There is no penalty for cancellation before the cancellation deadline, July 26, 2019. Please contact Cathy Born at 513-751-8000 x10 or cborn@prevention-first.org to cancel your registration. If it is necessary for the PreventionFIRST! to cancel a program, registration fees will be returned.

A registrant who cannot attend may avoid forfeiting the registration fee and paying a cancellation fee by providing a substitute from his or her organization to attend the workshop. To arrange for this member to attend, the original registrant should contact Administrative Assistant at PreventionFIRST! at 513-751-8000 or info@prevention-first.org and provide information for the substitute.

The Ohio Coaching and Mentoring Network (OCAM) is coordinated by PreventionFIRST! and will be working with a team of coaches to provide training, technical assistance, and mentoring in alignment with Ohio’s SPF-PFS priorities. This expanded infrastructure will lead to an increased use of evidence-based practice and ensure that Ohio’s rural and Appalachian populations have equitable access to culturally competent substance abuse prevention services.
