PREPARING WITHIN OURSELVES A PLACE FOR THE LORD

In this workshop we will reflect on examples and writings of monastic contemplatives who experienced, especially during the season of Advent, a call to prepare a place for Christ in their hearts through attentivenss to sacred liturgy.  Especially prominent among the sources we will study are the writings of St. Gertrude the Great, the Advent hymn, Rorate Coeli, and the Great O Antiphons.  

Fr. Luke Dysinger has been a monk of Valyermo since 1980. He is a priest and a physician who writes and teaches in the fields of mystical theology and biomedical ethics. He received a D.Phil. in patristics at Oxford University and is professor of church history and moral theology at St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, CA.
