Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
This program will focus on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for PrEP, the New York State Department of Health PrEP guidance, patients who may benefit from PrEP, challenges in managing patients in various practice settings, as well as organizational and psychosocial considerations for providing PrEP.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:
Ø Discuss the NYS and CDC Guidelines for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
Ø Describe selection of candidates for PrEP
Ø Discuss the management of the patient on PrEP
Ø Discuss PrEP therapy and side effects
Ø Discuss the challenges associated with PrEP
Ø Discuss follow-up care including labs, PrEP, and counseling
This training is open to New York State clinical providers, such as physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dentists & pharmacists.
