Class Description

Students will learn important portrait painting and drawing tips for beginner and advanced portrait painting students. Through fundamental traditional instruction and demonstrations, students will build the confidence they need to create beautiful portrait drawings or paintings. 

Materials

About the Instructor 

James Werner has been teaching at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette for 20 years and working as a fine artist doing portrait commissions, murals, and gallery works. His work is created in a tradition of realistic representation and he teaches traditional methods rooted in classical realism, while encouraging students to pursue creative styles that interest them. James attended the Florence Academy of Fine Art in Florence, Italy and graduated from Purdue University with a Masters of Fine Art and a BFA from The Amaerican Academy of Art in Chicago.
