Welcome to the online registration for the 2019 Pit Bull RC Illinois State Top Truck Championships & Scale Trials Competition hosted by RECON G6 & held during the Horizon Hobby RC Fest in Montecllo, IL.

The following is the rules & guidelines for each event. Drivers may participate in both events, but may only choose one class to compete in. 

Pit Bull RC Scale Trials at Horizon Hobbies RC Fest

 

Drivers navigate a gated course as quickly as they can without hitting gates or boundaries. The winners of each class will be determined by the least amount of gates/boundaries hit. In the case of a tie score, the quickest finishing time will be used as a tie breaker.

 

3 age categories / entry fee per class.

Kids 10 & under – Free.

Kids 11 to 15 - $6.00

Adults 16 & older - $15.00.

 

ST Class –

- Hard body is mandatory. 

- Tire size not to exceed 4.20in / 107mm 

- Wheel size may not exceed 1.9.

- Must be a licensed scale tire or scale replica after a full-size tire. Tires may be not be modified in any way. No siping, grooving, or lugs removed.

- Tires must be covered by a minimum of 50% by the body/fender flares.

- Must have a driver and 3D interior

- Must have functional headlights/off-road lights. 

- Must have all the required scale items (listed below). 

- Chassis must be original equipment, (oe) / stock. If it came with the kit or is an oe replacement, it is legal to use. No aftermarket chassis allowed. This includes flat plate rail chassis or vertical plate or other, regardless of material.

- No 4 wheel steer and/or DIG transmissions permitted.

 - No Motor on Axle (MOA) is allowed. 

 

STL Class -  

- Hard Body is mandatory.

- Tire size not to exceed 4.20in / 107mm

- Wheel size may not exceed 1.9.

- Must be a licensed scale tire or scale replica after a full-size - tire. Tires may not be modified in any way. No siping, groving, or removing lugs.

- Tires must be covered a minimum of 50% by the body/fender flares.

- Front & Rear axle must be have leafsprings. 

- Must have a driver and 3D interior. 

- Must have functional headlights / off-road lights.

- Must have all the required scale items (listed below). 

- Chassis must be original equipment, (oe) / stock. If it came with the kit or is an oe replacement, it is legal to use. No aftermarket chassis allowed. This includes flat plate rail chassis or vertical plate or other, regardless of material. 

- No 4 wheel steer and/or DIG transmissions allowed

- No Motor on Axle (MOA) is allowed. 

 

Required Scale Items for ST & STL& LST Classes.

Side Mirrors on the driver & passenger doors. Mirrors must be mounted for the start of every trials course run.

Windshield with windshield wipers.

A scale gas can, mounted to the vehicle or in the vehicle.

A scale first aid kit must be kept in the vehicle always.

 

 

Open Scale Class – 

- Lexan or Hard body is allowed.

- Tire size not to exceed 4.75in / 120mm.

- Wheel size may not exceed 1.9.

- Tires sust be a licensed or scale replica after a full-size tire. 

- No comp tires allowed or cut-n-shut tires. No siping, groving, or removing lugs.

- Must have a driver and a 2D or 3D interior

- Must have all the required scale items (listed below).

- Chassis must be original equipment, (oe) / stock. If it came with the kit or is an oe replacement, it is legal to use. No aftermarket chassis allowed. This includes flat plate rail chassis or vertical plate or other, regardless of material.

- No 4 wheel steer and/or DIG transmissions allowed.

- No motor on axle (moa) is allowed.

 

Required Scale Items for Open Class.

Extreme Builders Class – 

- Lexan Body or Hard Body is allowed.

- Interior is optional.

- Tire size not to exceed 5.4in or 137mm.

- Wheels can be 1.9 or 2.2 diameter.

- Tires may be licensed or a scale replica of a full-size tire. 

- No comp tires or cut-n-shut tires. 

- Siping and/or removing lugs is allowed. 

- Flat Plate Chassis are allowed. Vertical plate chassis are not allowed. 

- 4 wheel steer and/or Dig transmissions are allowed.

- Scale items will be required (Listed below).

- No motor on axle (moa) is allowed. 

 

Required Scale Items for Extreme Class.

A scale gas can, mounted to the vehicle or in the vehicle.

A scale first aid kit must be kept in the vehicle always.

 

Scoring – A driver is allowed to hit a set amount of gates/boundaries before he/she is DQ’d. Not finishing the course in the allotted time will result in a DQ. A vehicle rolled over on course or rolled off course will result in a DQ, unless the vehicle rolls back onto its tires in bounds.

 

Course will consist of natural & man made terrain & marked with RECON G6 wobble gates, a spring based gate built just for trials competitions & fun.

 

Pit Bull RC Illinois Top Truck Championships at Horizon Hobbies RC Fest

 

The Pit Bull RC Top Truck Challenge is geared for competitive fun. 3 classes of action, Leaf Spring, Open, & Extreme, will provide excitement for drivers and spectators alike!

To be crowned the Illinois State TTC Champion, a combination of smart driving, speed, & talent will trump luck. Good Luck, Drivers & Do Work!

1) Leaf Spring Class 
-Hard Body only
-Scale tires only
-No taller than 4.2 inches as marked from the manufacturer
-One axle must have leaf springs
-All vehicles must have an interior with a driver
-No rear steer
-No dig
-Stock frame rails only
-Mandatory scale items: First aid kit. Fire extinguisher. Tow Strap.

Winch is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
All recovery equipment used on course, must be kept on the vehicle & returned to the vehicle after use
Spare tire is optional.

2) Open Class - Hard Body or Lexan

-Tire height not to exceed 4.75 inches as marked from the manufacturer
-Must be scale tires
-All vehicles must have an interior with a driver
-Stock frame rails
-Truggy’s are legal, provided the front stock chassis is used
-No rear steer
-No dig
- Mandatory scale items: First Aid Kit. Fire Extinguisher. Tow strap

Winches are not mandatory, but highly recommended.
All recovery equipment used on course, must be kept on the vehicle & returned to the vehicle after use.
Spare tire is optional.

3) UTF Class

 - Any lexan or hard body truck.

- Can be linked or leaf sprung.

 - Wheel size cannot exceed 1.9. Can be leaf or linked. No interior is required.

- Tire Height not to exceed 5.4 inches as indicated on the side wall from the manufacturer

-Frame can be C channel or Cheater Chassis / Flat plate chassis is permitted


This class is for drivers with unfinished trucks or want to experience a Parkerized TTC style event before they build full interiors.
