Peter Read Miller’s 2019 Northern California Sports Photography  Workshop

Shoot MLB Baseball from the photo wells at the Oakland Coliseum as the Oakland A’s take on the Texas Rangers a Friday night game.

Saturday Morning work with Peter, Greg Cooper and SI Lighting tech Jordan Murph as you shoot action and portraits at San Jose CrossFit .  Then it's out to the pitch at Avaya Stadium for a Saturday night MLS match between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Colorado Rockys.

You will have access to the best gear from Canon and your images will be critiqued by Peter and other industry Pros.

Friday July 26

 

-Discussion of techniques for shooting Baseball and Soccer

-Bay Area Photographer and Agency owner Kelley Cox speaks on “How to start a career in today’s sports photography market”

-Check out Canon gear

-Oakland A’s/Texas rangers Baseball 7:05 PM, Oakland Coliseum

 

Saturday July 27

 

-Shoot action and portraits at San Jose CrossFit

-Edit and Critique Baseball

-San Jose Earthquakes/Colorado Rapids MLS Soccer 7:00, Avaya Stadium

 

Sunday July 28

 

-Edit and Critique Soccer and CrossFit 

-Return Canon Gear

 -Final thoughts

 

The event will be bases at the Emmbassy Suites Santa Clara 2885 Lakeside Drive Santa Clara, CA 95054 408 492-9121

An upscale hotel walking distance from restraunts and a Whole Foods Market.  Rooms are 2 bedroom suites with sleeper sofas.

Rooms include a mini fridge and microwave.  Breakfast, free parking and free internet in the room are included.

CANCELLATION POLICY 

Cancellation for a full refund must be requested 30 days prior to the start of the workshop.

Full tuition is due fifteen days before the workshop is scheduled to begin and is non-refundable after that date.

In the event of cancellation of the workshop all deposits and tuitions will be refunded or credited towards a future workshop.

About the Organizer

Peter Read Miller has been photographing athletes, events and the sporting life for more than 40 years. He has worked as a staff and contract photographer for Sports Illustrated for more than 35 years and his images have appeared on over 100 Sports Illustrated covers. His editorial clients have included: Time, Life, People, Money, Playboy, Runner’s World, Newsweek, USA Weekend and The New York Times. In addition to covering nine Olympic Games and 41 Super Bowls, Peter has shot 14 NBA Finals. He has covered the Stanley Cup Finals, the World Series, the Kentucky Derby, the NCAA Basketball Final Four, and the Men’s and Women’s World Cup Soccer Finals. Peter is currently shooting the NFL for AP Images. Peter teaches yearly sports photography workshops earound the country. He has taught in Denver, Atlanta, Knoxville, Honolulu and Santa Clara. Peter has taught at Rich Clarkson's Sports Photography Workshop as well as Sports Shooter and the Santa Fe Photographic Workshop. Peter has spoken at the Los Angeles Chapter of the Advertising Photographers of America, Photoshop World, Imaging USA, CES and PDN’s Photo Plus East. He has also lectured at numerous colleges, universities and professional photographic organizations. He and his work has been the subject of articles in Photo District News, American Photographer, Digital Photo Pro, Rangefinder Magazine and Shutterbug.
