Shoot From The Sidelines in Las Vegas

Join Peter Read Miller for the last stop of his “2016 Shoot From the Sidelines Tour” with an extended weekend photographing both high school and collegiate level sports in world famous Las Vegas.

The workshop will meet on Wednesday afternoon, November 9th, with an introduction to sport photography with Peter Read Miller. By evening, attendees will already be on the field photographing some action.

Throughout the weekend, you will have the access and opportunity to photograph the best of what University of Las Vegas has to offer including Women’s Volleyball and Men’s Football. We have also secured unique access to shoot a high school football playoff game and additional games TBA.

When we are not capturing the action on the field, we will head to a local CrossFit gym to learn how to shape light in difficult spaces, which is critical to creating exceptional images and photograph athlete portraits.  The workshop will conclude on Saturday, November 12th at approximately 10pm.

Each day after your shooting experiences, Peter will personally critique your work during a group review, so that you leave the workshop with a better understanding of how to turn good images into outstanding ones. Click here for a tentative schedule.

What you will learn:

·      Techniques to capture action

·      How to use lighting and different angles for shooting various sports

·      Portrait lighting with strobes

·      How to set-up and use remote cameras

What to bring:
