Charles Abell Named Lecture
PERFORMANCE-BASED OVERSIGHT IN THE AIRCRAFT MRO ENVIRONMENT
PAUL GRIFFITHS,
ENGINEERING SAFETY & QUALITY TEAM LEADER, BRITISH AIRWAYS ENGINEERING
PROGRAMME INTRO
The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Charles Abell named lecture commemorates, Charles Abell, British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC)’s energetic Engineering Director. He was head up BOAC’s engineering affairs for 25 years.
The Charles Abell named lecture takes aircraft maintenance as its theme, is, in part, intended to foster the interest of Licensed Aircraft Engineers (LAE) in the Heathrow Catchment since the 1987 merger of Society of Licensed Aircraft Engineers and Technologists (SLAET) with the RAeS
The 19th Charles Abell named lecture, is titled "Performance Based Oversight (PBO) in the Aircraft Maintenance (MRO) Environment", will concentrate on the role of the LAEs, Technician and Mechanics working on and around aircraft. The Guest speaker will give a brief explanation of the route to becoming an LAE, hopefully give an experience of working as an LAE and explain how performance based oversight (PBO), a new aviation safety regulatory regime, affects the LAE during the working day.
CPD | CPD certificates of attendance will be endorsed for CEng, IEng or EngTech registration.

NOTE FOR REGISTRATION
Thanks for registering your attendance via our Eventzilla site.
We have streamlined our event registration process by introducing online booking platform as an alternative to email and telephone registeration for our lectures/events, as well as developing a way of tracking numbers on any lectures/events that may be oversubscribed.
When you book, please select the relevant ticket option, and the number of tickets you would like. The booking confirmation will be automatically emailed to you, and that there is currently no option for us to admit last minute registration at the door.
The application asks for both registration and attendee details - even if there is only one person on the booking, you must fill in all fields. If you are reserving more than one ticket please ensure you enter the name of all attendees so they are reflected on the attendee list.
If there is any problem incurred during the registration process, or if there's anything we can improve on this tool, please contact the Branch Secretary –
