Next, participants will be taught about the four pillars that make commitment clear, competent, influenceable, and admirable.

Participants will learn how perceptions and appearances affect orientation.
Fast Track Orientation
This session will focus on the best type of orientation for short-term employees.
Designing a successful orientation program
Next, participants will reflect on their own orientation experiences. This will be combined with a list highlighting common orientation errors to create a framework for creating a program that is successful.
The Characteristics of a SuccessfulOrientation Process
Participants will discuss the top 10 characteristics of a successful orientation process, and how they can be incorporated into their organizations.
The Commitment Curve
Next, participants will be taught about the employer/employee engagement curve and how to make the orientation process go smoothly with it.
Nine Orientation Habits for World-Class Employers
Participants will be able to learn from world-class employers what it takes to make an orientation program successful during this session.
Obtaining buy-in
Participants will be able to gain support from their supervisors during this session.
Training
This session will teach participants how Kolb's learning styles can be applied to employee orientation, training, and other aspects of employee development.
Adult Education
Participants will be introduced to the principles and practices of adult learning in this session. These principles can be incorporated into training and orientation.
Working With External Providers
Participants will then discuss the issues that need to be considered when working with outside providers during orientation.
Helping people make connections
Participants will learn how to build good relationships with others. Participants will also be taught the importance of having a buddy at work.
Creating Employee Handbooks
Participants will discuss the contents of employee handbooks during this session.
A bridge to Onboarding
Participants will then create a checklist listing all the items they need for their orientation to close out the day. They will then work together with a partner in order to come up with ways to improve their orientation process.
Course Wrap Up
Students will be able to ask questions and complete an action plan at the end of each course.
