Occupational First Aid Course - February 15th, 22nd and 29th 2016
This 3 day Occupational First Aid course meets FETAC level 5 standards in First Aid training and is valid for 2 years. It is suitable for people who wish to become First Aiders in the Workplace. This programme requires a high level of participation and interaction. The course will provide the learner with the knowledge, practical skills and understanding required to co-ordinate first aid in the workplace. The specific learning outcomes are grouped into 8 units.
Unit 1 First aid in the workplace
Unit 2 Patient assessment
Unit 3 Respiratory emergencies
Unit 4 Cardiac first response
Unit 5 Wounds and bleeding
Unit 6 Altered levels of consciousness
Unit 7 Musculoskeletal injuries
Unit 8 Burns and scalds, chemicals, electric shock
Assessment and Certification
- Certification assessments (theory and practical) will take place on day 3
- Successful completion of the course and assessments results in issue of FETAC level 5 Certificate
- Certificates are valid for 2 years
- The course takes place in the NAS Centre
Refreshments are provided mid-morning, and sandwiches/wraps are provided for lunch.
