This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a specific model pistol or revolver safely. Course also includes all course content from our Florida Concealed Carry Course. Successful completion also qualifies you to apply for a Florida Concealed Firearms License. The course is 8 hours long and includes classroom time (about 6 hrs) and range time (1-2 hrs). Course is designed for beginners with little to no prior experience with firearms.
Attendees will receive an NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting book, an NRA First Steps course completion certificate and the State of Florida Concealed Carry Permit Information and Application packet. Students must provide their own handgun and a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition for the range portion of the course. A limited number of firearms will be available if needed (select this option during registration) but ammo is not included. If the course option with firearm is not available, all firearms have been reserved. All firearms and ammo brought by attendees will be inspected and approved prior to use at the range.

NO AMMUNITION is to be brought to the classroom portion of the course. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
NO FIREARMS are to be brought into class until the instructor or designee has inspected and verified the firearms to be safe. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
