Join us on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 to learn about various research initiatives taking place across Northern Ontario. Researchers will be breaking down the "why" and "so what" of their projects and how they relate to producers across the north. Research is key to allowing the continued growth and innovation in the agricultural industry across the north.
Session 1: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Four researchers will present their projects:
- "Overcoming agricultural barriers in Northern Ontario: Demystifying the north through education, promotion and engagement"
- "Assessing the impact of pasture/forage management on soil organic carbon (SOC) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the northern Ontario Great Clay Belt"
- "Integrating advanced remote sensing technologies and multi-scale modelling to advance the understanding of the impact of land conversion on soil properties"
- "Land conversion impacts on soil and water dynamics in the highway 11 corridor"
Time for Q&A will be available after each presenter.
Session 2: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Topics will include:
- "Green Innovation: How Collège Boréal is Tilling New Ground in Agricultural Research and Training"
- Research from Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue
