EAA has cancelled AirVenture 2020 and the Mooney Caravan to Oshkosh will not happen this year. This training clinic for the Caravan is consequently cancelled as well.

The 2nd Annual Northern FLights Mooney Caravan Formation Clinic is back at KBJI (Bemidji, MN) on Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31, 2020.

PURPOSE
The primary objective of the Northern FLights Caravan Clinic is to introduce pilots to formation flying, to qualify "New to Formation" pilots for the 2020 Mooney Caravan to Oshkosh, and to re-qualify previous Mooney Caravan pilots.
The Clinic will focus on 2-ship basics: formation takeoff, fingertip station-keeping, route, cross-unders, close trail, and formation landing.
Experienced Safety Pilots will ride along with "New to Formation" pilots for primarily two reasons, one, to help the new pilot recognize the various formation positions, and two, to keep the formation safe.
Note: Pilots with previous formation experience may be able to fly in 3 or 4 ship Elements, and will be trained to act as Element Leads.
We invite you to join us in learning how to fly in formation, and qualify to fly in the Mooney Caravan to Oshkosh. You will find formation flying is not only a lot of fun, but it will also help you become a better pilot. You will develop new friendships, and will experience a camaraderie with other like-minded pilots. Once you learn formation flying, then you, and your new formation friends, will be able to get together anytime to do formation flying on your own.
