About the Organizer

Since 1981, NIA Community Services Network has been actively engaged in creating solutions that address the problems our communities face throughout NYC. NIA addresses issues that impact youth, families, and seniors throughout Brooklyn and has expanded to form partnerships with schools in Queens and Staten Island. Each year, NIA serves nearly 6,000 children and their families through over 40 after-school programs, two Beacon Community Centers, summer day camps, cultural arts programming, youth and family counseling services, community assistance, and referral services. NIA also serves close to 3,000 senior citizens through our senior picnics, senior proms, health and nutrition initiatives, and support programs for seniors and veterans. NIA’s after-school programs and summer camps offer students year-round access to arts, sports, leadership, STEM, and academic opportunities through programs that foster positive youth development, teach new skills and encourage learning through exploration. NIA programs provide an environment where students learn to think critically and communicate confidently; a place where students develop the tools necessary to realize their individual talents and embrace the larger world!
