Anthony P. Natale, MSW, PhD is an Associate Professor, joining the faculty in 2005. Dr. Natale was the Graduate Coordinator in Social Work for 6 years and Assistant Director for 3.5 years. He left that position to serve as the Graduate College Faculty Fellow for Inclusive Excellence. In this role, he supervised programs and initiatives designed to support underrepresented graduate students in all phases of their academic experience - recruitment, admission, retention and graduation. He consulted with academic units to develop inclusive excellence plans for individual students as well infusing promising practices for inclusion and diversity in student policies, procedures and practices. Dr. Natale’s teaching interests include social welfare policy, human lifespan development, human diversity and oppression, and human sexuality. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses.

Dr. Bonni Goodwin, a recent recipient of the NASW-Oklahoma Emerging Leader in Social Work award, studied Family and Human Services at John Brown University, received her MSW at Washburn University and now holds a position in the Center for Child Welfare Training and Simulation at the University of Oklahoma. She completed her PhD in social work at Baylor University. Goodwin will focus on assessing and enriching the entire post-adoption response across the state while contributing her own research to benefit the children, families and professionals involved. Dr. Goodwin is working with ODHS leadership to explore needs, lead research and evaluation efforts to find possible solutions and change the face of how post-adoption is done at all levels with a goal for the partnership to develop a network of adoption-competent resources statewide who are identified as knowledgeable and effective in responding to the needs of children and families.

Mildred “Mit” C. Joyner, DPS, MSW, BSW, LCSW is President of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) that has 55 chapters throughout the United States and its territories. Joyner also serves as President of the North America Region of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), which includes Canada and the United States and is a member of IFSW’s Executive Committee. She serves on the boards of the NASW Foundation and the NASW Assurance Services, Inc. Her other board service included a community bank, DNBFIRST, where she was the first female and only African American to serve in this capacity and the Chester County Food Bank.
Professor Joyner received a BSW from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and her MSW in planning, policy and administration from Howard University, School of Social Work, in Washington, DC. Joyner’s professional career as a social worker began at Chester County Children, Youth, and Families as a protective service worker, After graduate school, she became the first department head and legal liaison of the child abuse unit at Chester County Children, Youth, and Families.

Dr. Toni Hail is an assistant professor of social work at Northeastern State University and a faculty member of the department since 2009. She is a member of the Chickasaw Nation. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oklahoma in 2005 with 6 years post graduate clinical experience in working with at-risk youth and families prior to teaching. Dr. Hail served as the curriculum coordinator for the NCWWI Child Welfare Specialization program since 2010 and is also the faculty sponsor for the Northeastern State University Student Social Work Association. She is a member of the leadership team with Risforthursday at Oklahoma State University. This grassroots initiative targets foster care alumni in effort to support and facilitate optimal outcomes for this population on college campuses across the state. Her research interests are college students formerly in foster care and working with Native American families in the child welfare system. In addition to teaching, Dr. Hail continues to do clinical work, clinical supervision and engage in research.

With a lengthy and distinguished career in higher education, Dr. Lanny Endicott has dedicated his professional life to social work. He was the Director of the Social Work Program at Oral Roberts University (ORU) for over 47 years. Dr. Endicott continues to beinvolved in social work education both at ORU and abroad (Russia). His interests besides education include: community planning and development, social services (particularly South Peoria in Tulsa, Oklahoma), workshops in compassion fatigue and burnout, community services for military veterans including soul repair, child welfare (both in Oklahoma and Russia), and family.
Lanny has earned a Doctorate of Ministry from the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He is affiliated with NASW, NACSW; the Community Service Council of Greater Tulsa; the South Peoria Neighborhood Connection Foundation Inc; the South Tulsa Community House and social work in Russia. Recognized by those in the field for his work, Dr. Endicott was awarded Social Worker of the Year in Oklahoma by NASW-OK in 2003. As well as being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker he is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist where he lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In conjunction with his professional interests, Dr. Endicott is a keen runner, having been Head of Cross Country and Track Coach at ORU. Ever a leader, he launched the cross country program at ORU in 1976. Their best season was in 1984 when ORU finished 11th in the NCAA National Cross Country Championships.

Dr. Carolyn Cox earned a BSW from the Northeastern State University program in May 2001 and then completed an MSW (clinical concentration) at the University of Oklahoma in 2002. In 2005, she completed supervision, obtained a License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) for the state of Oklahoma, and maintains her license to date. She began her academic career in 2004 as an adjunct instructor for the NSU Social Work program and then became a full-time instructor, serving as the BSW program's field director from August 2006 to May 2018. Now, Dr. Cox is an assistant professor and is the MSW field director.

Dr. Rehder holds a doctorate in higher education leadership from Northcentral University, a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Northwestern. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers. Rehder is credited with leading the social work program to external accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and was presented the John Barton Distinguished Teaching and Service Award in 2013.
Rehder is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and a member of the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps (OKMRC) where she serves as a disaster mental health responder. She currently serves as a board member on Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program (CWPEP) that works to strengthen child welfare services in Oklahoma and a board member of Freedom West Community Development Corporation, a non-profit development entity in Northwest Oklahoma that works to revitalize rural communities. She also serves as the Jake and Jayne Lindsay Endowed Chair in Social Work.

Steven P. Wells is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work, and serves as Simulation Program Coordinator. He has worked in the field of family and children services since 1976 as a child welfare worker, family mediator, foster parent trainer, group counselor, and university professor. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oklahoma (U.S.A.) and earned a doctorate in early childhood education in 2006. He teaches courses in social work practice, interviewing skills, and human behavior. He received a “Champions of Children Award” in 2008 from The Foster Care Association of Oklahoma, Inc., and was named Undergraduate Adviser of the Year in 2012 by the O.U. College of Arts and Sciences. His interests include children with disabilities and their families, child welfare services, counseling with abusive parents, foster parent training, and family mediation. He has explored Motivational Interviewing for the last ten years as a vital model for social work practice. Most of his MI training is within the context of child welfare services and allied health. He became associated with the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) in 2017 Dr. Wells is married to a social worker and is the parent of four adult children.

Dr. Amy Ward is the Social Work Program Director at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from East Central University, her Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma and her Doctorate of Social Work from the University of Southern California. She is a licensed clinical social worker and holds a trauma certification and has specialized in this area while working with traumatized children and families in the child welfare system. Before entering academia, Dr. Ward worked as a frontline social worker in a tribal community in child protective services, specializing in the Indian Child Welfare Act, serving families as an advocate in tribal and state courts.
Dr. Ward was named Oklahoma DaVinci Fellow in 2017 for her work on multidisciplinary simulation labs. She has since been featured in Oklahoma’s DaVinci’s spotlight on creativity which highlighted her efforts in implementing simulation labs across academic disciplines. Recently, she was honored by the Western Social Sciences Association for having the outstanding graduate paper, the work focused on Dr. Ward’s research topic, “Tribal Family Healing Court: A Culturally Sensitive Approach to Child Welfare in Tribal Communities.” Additionally, Dr. Ward is a member of the Council on Social Work Education and the National Association of Social Workers. She is passionate about social work and serving at risk, underserved populations in Oklahoma.
