This interactive CEU event is lead by James L. Smith, MSW. Mr. Smith is the Continuous Quality Improvement Coordinator at NorthCare, Inc.. the leading mental health service organization in Central Oklahoma. This session focuses on how to successfully implement small, yet effective quality improvement processes into the practice of social work, whether in private practice settings or in an agency.
By the end of this session, participants will identify
1. Ways to effectively evaluate their practice.
2. The importance of continuous quality improvement standards.
3. How to incorporate performance based outcomes into social work practice.

James Smith is currently the Performance Improvement Coordinator for NorthCare in Oklahoma City, and teaches as an adjunct professor for the Social Sciences department at Oklahoma City Community College. He has a passion for promoting education in many arenas, and refers to this as “proactive social work.” He serves as the president for a local virtual charter school board focused on alternative education. He came to social work later in life after careers as a chef and website designer when he was younger.
