About the Instructor

Cheryl received her BFA in Studio Art with a drawing concentration, while working toward an additional Art education major at the University of Tennessee. During 1994-2000, Cheryl taught ages 4 to 12 in ceramics and mixed media classes here at the museum. She also taught a mixed media class and a special class series on creating miniature gardens for elementary age students classes at the Arts Federation in 2014. Fall of 2016, Cheryl attended a workshop led by New Englander Jim Napolitano of Nappy's Puppets on the art of articulated shadow puppets. Jim's work has been featured on PBS Kids and Nickelodeon and has inspired Cheryl to introduce this very imaginative art form to children and adults in the area.
