Mountain Bike Search and Rescue
Certification Course
This is a full certiicate course in an intensive weekend. Level 1 is covered Friday evening, Level 2 Responder by Saturday and Level 3 when you have dome the whole long weekend.
If you are an instructor or run training for a SAR Team, Police Department, Diosaster Response team, etc then you may be able to challenge the Instructor Course. Otherwise do the course and come back after soe riding and do the course again as an instructor.
NOT A "TRICKING COURSE"
Please note that this is not a "Tricking" Course. We expect you to have solid basic fitness and be able to ride a mountain bike. We teach you working with Montain Bkes for SAR (Search and Rescue) and Disaster Response.
YOUR BIKE
You should have a good basic roadworthy mountain bike with solid brakes and a puncture repair kit. You should be able to ride well but again, we are not doing 'tricks' or 'racing.'
You will be taught basic bike care and maintenance too.

LEVELS EXPLAINED
1. OBSERVER
Useful for those who may want to know more about MBSAR (Mountain Bike Search and Rescue) how it may be used well and how to Manage such teams if you are part of an Overhead Team (or SAR Manager.)
2. RESPONDER
This level is for single terrain and basic response such as events, medical response and limited riding (Mainly basic response and ICS / Support) and in daylight. This requires the OBSERVER LEVEL PLUS basic riding for those interested.
3. OPERATOR
Fully Operational and comprehensive MBSAR use in varied terrains all times of day. Provides the knowledge, requisite skills for the use of MBSAR . Minimum standard for those who want to deploy on Mountain Bike as useful SAR Operators.
