Mark your calendars and prepare your rig!  Tickets are on sale NOW!  Tickets purchased after August 23rd will NOT be guaranteed a tee shirt at the event.

This awesome event is open to all members with rigs that meet the minimum requirements for club trail runs, but please read below.

Labor Day weekend is only a month away and with it the biggest Mohawk 4x4 Adventures event of the year; the second annual Mohawk 4×4 Adventures’ Vermont Expedition (M4X4AVTXPD II). Last year 26 people, from 3 years old to seasoned wheelers, joined the run.  This year we hope to expand upon what we started last year with more wheeling, more terrain options, and better camping facilities. You do not want to miss this!

Two of our own central Vermont members graciously volunteer as our trail guides to wheel a mix of private and public land just north of the beautiful Green Mountain State Forest.

The fun begins Friday evening September 2nd at Camp Coolidge State Park.  A trip to this pet friendly State Park is a trip back in time; the park remains essentially the way it was when it was first created in the 1930s besides the addition of plumbing!  Known for its rustic feel, hillside campsites that give way to dramatic mountain views, and authentic character, Coolidge State Park is the developed recreation centerpiece of the 21,500 acre Calvin Coolidge State Forest, the largest state-owned land holding in central Vermont.  (For more campground information, please visit http://www.vtstateparks.com/htm/coolidge.htm )

We have reserved a large group camping site and pavilion that will make this a great family event. For those with families that want to join, but not wheel all weekend, the area provides plenty of other activities outside the park. Okemo Mountain lies just 7 miles south and provides mountain biking, hiking, adventure zone, golf and more. Killington Mountain Resort is 18 miles north and offers options from the Beast Mountain Coaster to shopping and even Zip Lining.  In addition, the location is ripe with Geocaching locations and gold panning for those adventurous families that want to explore the natural surroundings.

Weekend Schedule
Friday September 2nd:

  • 3:00 – 8:00    Check in, Rig Inspection, Tee shirts.  Dinner is on your own Friday night.
  • 8:00 pm  A night run is tentative, last year it was an easy run and fun for everybody!

Saturday September 3rd:

  • 7:30:    Club Breakfast - Our volunteers will help with simple breakfast preparations.  Nothing too fancy here, simple fair like the continental breakfasts you might expect in a hotel.
  • 9:30:    Embark on our Journey - Trail runs and difficulty will be finalized based on attendance at the event.
  • 12:30:  (Approximately) break for lunch on the trail, please be prepared with your own lunch for the trail.
  • 4:30:    Head back to the campground
  • 6:30:    Club Dinner - Our volunteers will help prepare the evening's dinner with the club provided menu items such as burgers and dogs with all the fixings.
  • 7:00:    Campfire and Story Telling Begins

Sunday September 4th:

  • 7:30:    Club Breakfast - Our volunteers will help with simple breakfast preparations.  Nothing too fancy here, simple fair like the continental breakfasts you might expect in a hotel.
  • 9:30:    Embark on day two of our Journey - Day 2 we have historically run more difficult trails than Day 1.  For day 2, we encourage the members with less built rigs to jump in an open seat and enjoy the ride.  Green lane adventures gives way to more rock climbing, and increased difficulty trails where lockers and winches are used more often.
  • 12:00:  (Approximately) break for lunch
  • 2:00:    On day 2, the group has split to allow families to visit local attractions or keep wheeling.  This also allows some volunteers to return to camp to prepare the FEAST for Sunday night.
  • 6:00     Club Provided Farewell Dinner - Our members graciously volunteer to prepare a meal fit for mighty adventurers, like yourself.  We bust out the steak, in other words.  All members are welcome to contribute a dish to spice things up, a dessert to push one another over the edge, or your favorite frosty beverages to share.

Monday September 5th:

  • 8:00:    Club Provided Breakfast
  • 9:00 -11:00:   Good Bye’s and Check Out - Check out time is 11 am, and we have to be sure we are cleaned up, packed up and out of there.

In our effort to fairly spread the costs of the camping and food we will be charging a per head fee for all of those that attend and have done everything in our power to keep this cost as low as possible.  This year we will be charging a flat fee for each person regardless of how many nights you plan on staying.  This way we can avoid the confusion we experienced last year when people changed their reservations after arrival.   All costs are per head and cover you for the full weekend or any part of it:
Adults $100
Children (ages 4 to 12) $30
Children 3 and under are free.

Here's what your ticekt purchases gets you:

  •  An exclusive Mohawk 4x4 Adventures tee shirt with every adult reservation.
  •  At least 3 breakfasts
  • Two excellent dinners
  • Club use of the giant pavilion, which seats up to 70 people
  • Electricity, grills and fireplaces at the pavilion
  • Bathrooms, with real plumbing!  (If you were there last year, you know...)
  •  Your tent camping site and parking
  •  Premiere wheeling adventure in New England on public and private property!

This event is subject to updates (improvements) as we confirm and lock in our agenda.  Please register early so we can lock in our pricing with vendors and get our shirts delivered on time.
We are requesting you complete additional information when you register, so we plan accordingly.  We'll be asking for your check in and check out time and date, pets, number of children 3 and younger, etc.
