Greetings and salutations Mohawk 4x4 Adventurers!

It's once again time for the greatest adventure of the year, our annual M4X4AVTXPDIII, which may also be the longest abbreviation known to the off road world!

SEPTEMBER 1, 2, 3 and 4th 2017

Maybe your wondering why this is the greatest adventure of the year?  It could be the camping location, a top a mountain overlooking the valley and the mountains to the west at sunrise.  It could be the large pavilion we rent complete with seating for all and two large fire places.  Or maybe it's the food, drinks and friends?  Maybe it's the event exclusive tee shirt?

PROBABLY NOT!  It's the wheeling!  Add in all of the above reasons and you can't not have a good time.

We'll be spending most of the weekend off roading premiere trails through out the region, ranging from privatre property to public roads you have to see to believe.  Mohawk 4x4 Adventures mixes it up with plenty of fun for everyone, all weekend long.  We'll be running some easy, scenic trails and plenty of grab bar clenching obstacles and rocks along creek beds and cliffs, expertly guided by our members that live there.

If you're coming up and not sure your rig can handle a certain trail, jump in and ride with another member.  You really don't want to miss a thing.

Here's what to expect -

Friday Afternoon and Night:  Check in to set up camp and air down.  You'll be checking in at the pavilion and signing a sign in sheet and waiver.  All drivers, passengers and children need to be recorded on the waiver.  Include any children's full name and the parent or guardian will sign for anyone under 18.

We've been doing a Friday night run that is relatively easy.  It has kind of depended on who wanted to go and what they're driving.  We usually head out for a couple hours around 8:30 p.m.

Saturday Morning:  Wake up to a quick breakfast!  Volunteers prepare the breakfast grub of simple fixings you'd expect at breakfast, like sausage, bacon and egg sandwiches.  Nothing extravagent, and we'll have juices, milk and cereal.  Breakfast will be provided by the club, we have one or two expert volunteers in the kitchen.

TRAIL RIDES LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 9:30 A.M. - If you need a shower, trip to the store or gas station remember, MUST BE READY TO GO WITH YOUR VEHICLE OUTSIDE CAMP AT 9:30 IN THE PARKING LOT.  Aired down, all your gear strapped down and ready to rock.

Throughout Saturday, you'll be eating your own lunches on the trail.  We try to stop for lunch at a reasonable time, in a nice spot - but don't wait for everyone to stop if you're hungry, eat in your seat.  Make sure you have plenty of snacks, lunch and drinks for the day.  We return to camp around dinner time, somewhere between 4:30 and 6:30.

Saturday Night: We'll be enjoying dinner at our camp site, prepared by volunteers and again provided by the club.  Burgers, Chicken, Dogs, Chips, Soda and Veggies!  Nothing too fancy, just your typical grilling faire.  We encourage people to bring side dishes to share.

IF YOU PLAN TO WHEEL SATURDAY NIGHT, WE HAVE TO STRICTLY ENFORCE A ZERO ALCOHOL BEFORE WHEELING POLICY.  This is for your safety as well as everyone else's safety.  Saturday night trail rides are typically extremely challenging.  It's worth waiting until we get back to have a couple pops - trust us on this!

Sunday Morning: Wake up to a quick breakfast!

TRAIL RIDES LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 10 A.M. - If you need a shower, trip to the store or gas station you MUST BE READY TO GO WITH YOUR VEHICLE OUTSIDE CAMP AT 10 a.m.!!  (If we can leave before ten, that would be awesome.)

Throughout Sunday, you'll be eating your own lunches on the trail.

Sunday Night: NEW FOR THIS YEAR - SUNDAY NIGHT PIZZA AND BREWS!  Join us for a buffet dinner at Ramunto's Brick And Brew Pizza in the historic Bridgewater Mill.  Buffet is going to be scheduled for 7 p.m.!  Sunday night is the night we'll probably be up late, socializing and all that stuff.  There is a nominal extra charge for the buffet dinner.  The club will be covering the food bill, but will not be buying alcohol or beverages.

Monday Morning: Monday is check out time.  Last year, we did a nice early morning ride at 9 a.m.  Breakfast was left overs and granola bars.  We'd like to repeat this, it was a lot of fun and one of the most exciting trips.  We packed up and checked out and then 4 of us did ONE LAST TRAIL into the afternoon.  We had to unpack a lot of gear for the very last leg of the trip, but it was worth it.  It was one of those, "I will never forget this trail," kind of trips.  Seriously.

Check out time is 11 on Monday and last year we were able to check out a little later.

Each day we will be checking attendance to keep track of day users and campers.  This determines our final campground cost.

The parking area is a few hundred feet from the camp site's exact location.  We will have gate access along a gravel road to the pavilion BUT, NO VEHICLES ALLOWED ON THE GRASS THIS YEAR.  NONE.  ZERO.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

DOGS - Last year we forfeited funds because of dog poop.  If you're bringing a dog, you need to let us know ahead of time.  There will be a deposit for each dog.  We apologize, everyone loves dogs - but the campground charged us a clean up and disposal fee.  Deposits will be refunded within a week of check out time if applicable.
