2014A - Large Boardroom, Queen Margaret University, Musselburgh, East Lothian, EH21 6UU, United Kingdom.

QMU staff now have many years’ experience of moderating assessment, both within programme teams, and with collaborative partner (CP) staff. Our CP provision is scaling up, and this raises the question of how our moderation practices need to adapt, to be sustainable. And how can we ensure that our Moderators are supported in their work?

This first Moderator Network session will:
- Facilitate contact between moderators across the University
- Encourage the exchange of ideas and practices between QMU moderators and programme areas
- Seek joint solutions to challenges as they emerge.

The programme:
9.15 Introductions.  Coffee, scones, welcome, introductions
9.30 Context. Where are we coming from with moderation? What research is going on re TNEPs?
9.45 Discussions

Challenges of intercultural communications - Bernie Quinn
Building and maintaining relationships with partners - Linda Renton, Louise Cotton
 Dealing with conflict -Ailsa Espie
