About the Presenter: Patrice is an apprentice-trained midwife in private practice since 1982, and she has attended over 1600 home births. Patrice was initially certified as a CM (Certified Midwife) through the Michigan Midwives Association in 1983 and in 1997 became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). She is a board member of the Michigan Midwives Association, member of the Midwives Alliance of North America and the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives, and is on the Michigan Board of Licensed Midwifery.  Patrice credits the training she received with Dr. George Morley for improving skills to manage shoulder dystocias in her own practice for the last 20 years, including a 6 1/2 minute dystocia and two 9 minute dystocias, all managed at home with no damage to the babies or need for full resuscitation, or transport.
