Celebrate Moroccan narratives of unity, goodwill and friendship:

  • GNAWA MUSIC featuring ISMAIL BOUZIDOUNE, and also ENSEMBLE FANAA (John Murchison, Dan Kurfirst & Daro Behroozi. Gnawa mixes classical Islamic beats with African traditional rhythms

  • Mimouna treats to be provided for a light Moroccan-style brunch

Celebrated in Moroccan Jewish communities worldwide, Mimouna has also become a symbol of co-existence, unity & the neighborhood.

Historically, when leavened foods became permitted at the end of Passover, they were still unavailable in Jewish homes, so in Morocco, neighborly Muslims would provide the ingredients necessary to prepare traditional delicacies.

With hearts and doors open, diverse neighbors would welcome spring together by blessing each other in hopes of a season of health, success and good fortune. Join us to enjoy this festival of good neighbors and get a taste of Morocco's rich culture.
