Whether you are a health department, FQHC, or CBO, COVID-19 has encouraged us all to shift the ways that we engage in HIV prevention work. Join us for a series of virtual conversations where we will explore the challenges, barriers, innovative strategies, skills and tools for implementation, and unanticipated partnerships emerging in the Midwest region as we all continue to work toward ending the HIV epidemic in the midst of a global pandemic.

Join the PS19-1904 Midwest Regional CBA Providers for a morning review of the symposium. This time will offer the opportunity to mingle, go over the agenda, discuss logistics, and ask any questions of the symposium hosts.
The HIV landscape – from the changes in testing methods to the closures of clinics and other service providers – has changed distinctly over the past year. COVID-19 has encouraged us all to shift the ways that we engage in HIV prevention and care work. This opening plenary will provide an overview of the impacts of the pandemic on the Midwest region, as well as the resources and capacity building opportunities available for health departments and their partner agencies.
Objectives:
1. Meet the CDC Midwest Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) providers and learn about regional technical assistance services
2. Summarize the trends in needs and barriers across the Midwest as they have shifted in response to COVID-19
3. Network with peers across the region and share pertinent experiences on the intersection of COVID-19 and HIV prevention and care work

During this session participants will hear from various Midwest clinical testing sites and the promising practices that were implemented to sustain clinical routine HIV testing during a COVID-19 pandemic.
