Mental Health First Aid teaches participants ways to offer initial help and support to people in need by improving understanding about what's going on and providing an action plan about how to deal with it.
The training teaches participants to assess for a risk of suicide or harm, listen non-judgmentally, give reassurance and information, embolden the individual to seek professional help, and encourage self-help and other support strategies.
