Learning Objectives
At the end of the MEDA Conference, participants will:
1. Participants will be able to examine and employ different techniques in incorporating the family into eating disorder treatment.
2. Participants will be able to examine different dietary interventions in the treatment of eating disorders.
3. Recognize in greater depth the unique medical, psychological and behavioral toll eating disorders have on clients across age, gender and ethnicity.

Course Description: The MEDA Conference explores in detail the most recent scientific knowledge related to the field of eating disorders and how to translate this information into practice. The conference focuses on complicated medical, psychological, nutritional, social and cultural attributes often seen in eating disorder cases which can lead to stalled progress in recovery. This year, the conference has 1 keynote and 3 breakout sessions with 4 simultaneous workshops. Each workshop builds upon what is known in the field and will focus specifically on ways that care can be improved across the spectrum.

Who Is Invited?
MEDA welcomes eating disorder specialists and non-specialists to take part in the 2017 Conference. Certain workshops are designed to meet the needs of advanced professionals and others are targeted to a more general audience. MEDA invites MDs, PhDs, RNs, PsyDs, Social Workers, Licensed Mental Health Counselors and dietitians.

Number of Credits Available: The total number of hours eligible for Continuing Education creditsis11.75 or 5.75 for Friday and 6.0 for Saturday. Eligibility to receive credit for a session requires full session attendance. The Social Work licensing board does not allow .25 credits. Credits will be rounded down to 11.5 total credits or 5.5 for Fiday and 6.0 for Saturday.
