Learning Objectives:

Compliance with the 2015 NY State energy code for residential and commercial mechanical systems for both new construction and existing buildings.

1. Educate the New York State code officials about the mechanical requirements of the energy code in order to increase compliance.

2. Develop an “understanding” of the mechanical requirements as they relate to the code officials job (what to look for in the field, how to verify, etc.).

3. Provide an understanding by building type of typical systems code officials might see in the field, and corresponding images of real-life building situations of both compliant and non-compliant constructions, as appropriate.

4. Provide a forum for discussion with expert speakers where code official questions and issues can be discussed.

Newport Ventures on behalf of the NYSERDA offers training, education, and support services to help New York Energy Code stakeholders understand and comply with the 2015 IECC. Visit our website at http://newportventures.net/projects/nyserda/energycodetraining.html to learn more.
