Makiko Hirabayashi is a Japanese pianist/composer, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since the release of her first trio album in 2006, Makiko has received wide critical acclaim as a personal voice on the international jazzscene. The freshness of both her compositions and the trio’s vibrant interplay has caught the ears of many listeners around the world.

MahraJazz – Haifa Alternative Jazz Festival, is a Palestinian underground music event (non-profit and volunteer-based) running for its second year. The festival aims to bring to Haifa some of the best up-and-coming contemporary jazz. Over two weekends, different venues will be hosting us for some great music performances, workshops, live sets, food stalls and summer drinks.
