Do you have a sewing machine hiding in your life?

You remember, the one you bought or received as a gift…

and said “Someday, I’ll learn to sew!”

Here is your chance!

Make your first home décor project

– a comfortable 14” square pillow!

Make friends with that machine lurking in the back of your closet!  We will cover bobbin-winding, needles, threading, pinning, straight stitching and corners to make an easy throw pillow cover by the end of the 90-minute class. Course is open to teens (13+) and adults.

WHAT DO I BRING?

Yourself – and a sense of adventure for learning a new skill. Your cell phone or camera to record your experiences and show off your new talents.

Your machine including an empty bobbin that fits, your foot pedal and power cord.  The manual is useful if you’ve got one.  Let us know the make & model of your machine when you sign up.  We may be able to locate the manual if you do not have it.

Meet the instructor – Kate Wolicki

Hello! My name is Kate Wolicki and I will be your sewing instructor. I am the proud owner of Bright Fabric Art in Brookfield. My love of sewing started while working in the costume shop at UW-Madison in the last century. I love all types of fabric and taking care of our environment. To feed both of those ‘addictions’, I started Bright Practical Fabric Art, out of my bungalow in Brookfield. I make practical clothing, baby items, accessories and home décor with repurposed and upcycled fabric. My biggest challenge is hiding my creations from my daughter before she decides that they are her newest accessory! Let me show you how you, too, can love your sewing machine.
