Monday, 13 November 2017 8:30 AM - Tuesday, 14 November 2017 3:00 PM EST

Griffin Region College and Career Academy, 221 Spalding Drive, Griffin, Georgia, 30223, United States.

Join Lt. Governor Casey Cagle for a two-day event focused on "Leadership Matters", two days of collaboration and discussions focused on supporting education initiatives based in leadership development and growth.

On Monday, November 13th at Griffin Region College and Career Academy, breakout sessions with executives and leaders from various Georgia companies, as well as education leaders, will focus on the leadership development in various ways. We will delve into how industries and businesses obtain their talented leaders through mastering relevant competencies and developing key skills in their employees, as well as discussing examples of growing successful workforce pathways that secondary and post-secondary partners use to create a seamless path to a well-paying job.

We also look forward to hosting the GA CATT Employer and Mentor Team meeting on Monday, bringing together all of our industry members from Coweta, Griffin, Newton, and Rockdale counties. This will be an excellent opportunity for any educators or industries interested in the GA CATT program to learn more from these industry leaders.

On Tuesday, November 14th at the Academy for Advanced Studies in Henry County, we will be concentrated on the impact of strong leadership, and how it shapes businesses and classrooms. Thanks to the Georgia Association of Manufacturers, I am excited to announce our special guest speaker Colonel Lee Ellis who will share his story as a Prisoner of War and how he used his experience to develop successful leadership principles. This year’s summit is our opportunity to shed a new light on how “Leadership Matters” in education as we rise to the challenge of building a better Georgia.

Industry tours are available for Monday morning beginning at 10:00 am. Conference check-in begins Monday at 12:00 PM at Griffin Region College and Career Academy, and lunch will be provided. The Summit ends Tuesday, November 14th at approximately 3:00 pm following the closing ceremonies. Full agendas, suggested hotel information, and further details will be provided upon registration.
