Together we will learn, discuss, and put, Mindful Self-Compassion, into practice.
There is a lot of information out there on self-compassion and it seems to be something we often verbalize to each other – “take care of yourself”, “love yourself more”, “put on your own oxygen mask first” – and yet, we falter to find ways to implement it into our lives. In this course, we will break it down into easy pieces and will take time to practice it. This is a 16 week course, which includes 8 sessions and an introductory session. That means we will have ample time to get acquainted with the material, process it and put it into practice without overwhelming your current life schedule.
My intention for this 16 week course is for us to achieve more compassion for ourselves and others. Shifting ourselves away from criticism, blame, and self-limiting behaviors will result in better connections/relationships, more compassion in our lives, and a stronger sense of well-being.
"Compassion is a STRENGTH that allows us to transform emotional suffering, it is a SKILL that can be learned, and it can be directed toward oneself". - Christopher Germer, PhD
"Freeing yourself from the trap of destructive thoughts and emotions through self-compassion can boost your self-esteem from the inside out, reduce depression and anxiety, and even help you stick to your diet". Christopher Germer, PhD.
You choose how much or little you want to interact with the group. There will be time for interaction during the live sessions and a private Facebook page for further discussion/comments between sessions for those wanting interaction. Ohers may choose to follow along and be silent. You will not be put on the spot or called out to speak if you don’t want to.
This is for anyone who wants to:
1. Feel loved and supported.
2. Enhance your ability to cope with challenges.
3. Learn to quiet the critical voice in your head.
4. Increase emotional well-being.
5. Find acceptance of self.
6. Realize deeper happiness and peace in life.
