University Heights Community Center in the U District is showing all three Lord of the Rings films in their beautiful Auditorium! This features theatre projection, a great sound system, and lovely surroundings that can seat up to 120 folks. Obviously this is an all-day affair, and while some may need to miss a portion, many will revel in the opportunity to complete the whole epic trilogy in an excellent setting!
Yes, these will be the extended editions, and no: no Hobbit movies. The timing is tight, but between each film will be breaks for dining and fresh air. Lunch is at the U District Farmer's Market right outside, dinner will be the catered by Fremont's fantastic PIE food truck, offering sweet or savory hand sized pies. We'll also provide bottomless popcorn with fixings! Be prepared to purchase your meals, bring your own, or plan to live on popcorn. If you are driving: the building has a fair amount of parking and there is street parking around the area.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
