Decorative Finishing diploma is a qualification that is designed to help gain knowledge and skill-based learning for candidates. It helps in preparing the candidate for working in the construction field for preparing surfaces for spray painting and manual painting job works.

What is this?

It is considered a work-oriented course and qualification that has been recently updated for the candidates who want to make their career as a painter in the construction field. When opting for this qualification, the candidate is provided with the option to make selections from amongst decorative based finishing as a painter, industrial painting job works and painting occupations.

Why is it required?

The candidate, when opting for CSCS training course, will have to complete around 670 hours of learning sessions. During this duration, the candidate is expected to complete around 309 hours of training under the guided leaning system. At the end of the course, the candidate will be allotted with around 67 credit points.

The qualification has been developed with an aim to help candidate his skill and knowledge level within painting related areas and occupations. During this time, he will be trained to make use of different types of painting system that he will be using for accomplishing any task.

The qualification has been focused on helping the candidate choose a bright career within the construction field before he can apply for the job. The course has been developed to help check with the competency level of the candidate as an industrial painter and heritage painter.

The qualification is competency based and work oriented such that the employers are sure that the hired candidate is qualified for being hired at the work post.

The qualification is designed to help test the candidate at the time of employment and to help him progress during his employment with the industry. The main objective of the course is to check with the supportive role for each of the candidate, check with his skill level and to confirm his position for a valid card scheme.

Criteria

As the qualification is aimed to be valid by CSCS, so it is obvious that the candidate has to display his skills as per the industrial standards. The scheme is designed to test the skills of the candidate, his knowledge, workshop skills, qualifications, and competency.

The qualification helps in covering the skills required for practical and theoretical knowledge for industrial painting occupations such that he will be able to score a minimum of 67 credit points that are required to earn the Diploma certificate. At the end of the course, the candidate is expected to complete at least 6 mandatory units from selected categories.

In order to qualify the candidate must have appeared for screen touch test or be willing to apply for the supervisory position. Any candidate who wishes to apply for a license to work as a freelancer can also appear for the course.
