Leave No Victim Behind is the only national program addressing mass violence response on a global level. We bring together survivors, first responders, advocates, and those in the criminal justice system to ensure no victim is left behind. This is our fifth year and first-year private. We will continue the tradition of building experience and response through lessons learned.  Our online conference this year will rival any online event you have ever attended.  Join us as we share our experiences on a global path to serving those most in need.

Leave No Victim Behind

https://leavenovictimbehind.org

LNVB is comprised of caring individuals who have come together in an effort to improve national response to mass violence events. Our non-traditional approach ensures conference take-aways are meaningful.

Robert Pycior
Social Worker

Robert Pycior is a licensed social worker based in New Jersey who spends his days working at Manville High School and his evenings and weekends volunteering for causes near and dear to his heart. His father, Joseph J Pycior Jr., was killed while working in the Naval Command Center in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. In the near twenty years since his father's death, Robert has worked to find ways to connect with others who share his experience and, more important in his eyes, with the next generation of children and teens who have been impacted by trauma. He has attended Tuesday's Children's Project Common Bond as a participant, group leader, and most recently as a military-affiliated chaperone. Prior to the pandemic, Robert had the pleasure of addressing the United Nations Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism, alongside Terry Sears, as a representative for individuals impacted by acts of terror. Robert maintains an active connection to his father's military service through his work with Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, where he has grown from participant to facilitator. He also remains active with Comfort Zone Camp, a bereavement program for children, teens, and young adults. Robert's mission has become connecting individuals who have a shared experience of trauma or loss and highlighting both their inner strength and the strength that they have as a community.

Marie Clyne is honored to join this panel from Denver, CO. Marie lost her mom during the 9/11 attacks, at eleven years old. She was fortunate enough to receive compassionate care under the guidance of skilled counselors to help her better understand and navigate the impact of that trauma on her life. The experience sparked a lifelong interest in affording to others the same compassionate care that was offered to her. To this end, Ms. Clyne pursued her Master's in Social Work from Fordham University, and recently opened her own practice, Lost & Found Therapy.

Cathie Ong-Herrera
Loving Sister of Betty Ann Ong
Betty Ann Ong Foundation

Cathie Ong-Herrera is the sister of Betty Ann Ong an American Airlines flight attendant who made a 23 minute telephone call to American Airlines operations staff calmly describing what was happening on Flight 11, which ultimately flew into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Betty was the very first responder to alert of the hijacking, providing vital information to ground authorities which identified the hijackers and eventually led to the closing of airspace for the first time in United States history. The 9/11 Commission appointed by the United States Congress and chair by Governor Thomas Keane declared Betty as an American hero. Awakened by her brother’s phone call early in the morning of September 11, 2001, Cathie learned about the horrific events taking place in New York City on that day. Twenty years later Cathie continues to speak about her loss, her journey and the positive work of the Betty Ann Ong Foundation in honor of Betty’s heroism and memory. Cathie is the founder and CEO of the Betty Ann Ong Foundation and is a retired dental hygienist in California.
