Leather Crossbody Bag Workshop

 

 

 

Join us for another one of our Plano American Sewing Guild Homegrown Workshops.  This time we will make a leather crossbody bag.  Participants will learn:

 

 

 

·       Tips for sewing on leather

 

·       How to add a metal post or magnetic closure

 

·       How to make a crossbody strap

 

·       And of course, how to make a leather crossbody bag!

 


Here are the workshop details:

 

·       Date: Saturday, September 28

 

·       Time: 9 AM - 5 PM

 

  • Location: Best Little Retreat Center in Texas (Beltline and Coit in Dallas)
  • Kit includes:
    • Precut leather
    • Bag hardware
    • Metal post or magnetic closure
    • Use of rubber cement and cold tape for stabilizing
  • Cost:
    • ASG member - $30 (member # required)
    • Non-members - $80
      • If you are not an ASG member, you can join ASG for $50 and pay the member workshop price.  The total is the same!  And this way you get all the access, retail discounts and other benefits of membership in addition to the workshop!

      • If you join, select the member ticket option instead of the non-member ticket option.
  • You bring:
    • Wonder Clips
    • Teflon Foot for your sewing machine
      • Walking foot or rolling foot can also be used, but Teflon is recommended
    • Sewing Machine
    • Leather Sewing Machine Needle (size 14 or higher)
      • Recommend bringing 2 in case 1 breaks)
    • Basic Sewing Supplies, including thread to match leather color choices

 

Class is limited to 8 people, but if the waitinglist grows to 6 or more people, we will open another section and include more people.

 

Cancellation policy

Cancellations will be refunded less the $5 processing fee until 9/21/2019.  After that date, no refunds can be given.
