The nationally recognized and renowned Deaf Sensitivity Training Class is open to attorneys-at law nationwide. The 4-hour class is entitled "I Never Gave THAT a Thought!"

Among other vital points, learn:

• how you can whisper to a client who is Deaf in the courtroom when speaking through an ASL interpreter. Would it prevent confidentiality? No!

• how people who are Deaf are "discreetly" discriminated against in the workforce and why.

• how many law enforcement personnel are basically untrained to protect those with hearing loss because they don't know much about the Deaf Community?  Yet, sadly, the subject seems to be put off all to often,

• how giving Miranda rights may be skirted.

• why putting handcuffs in the back of an arrested person who is Deaf is basically gagging him/her! Of course, safety for everyone comes first.

• why the Deaf Community, in general, fears the police and the legal system.

• how ADA compliance is not always followed in the US.

• why incarcerating a person who is Deaf can be brutal to the individual, especially when correction staff are untrained in how to interact with those with hearing loss.

• and a lot more!

We maintain an up-to-date robust contingency plan which we put in place for timely conversion of our confirmed, on-site training classes to a LIVE/ONLINE & INTERACTIVE webinar facilitated presentation. Materials usually provided at the beginning of on-site classes will, instead, be sent to each participant or the administrator who arranged for your group class, to distribute. This will be done in time to have any material printed on your end to bring with you to your computer or classroom. We ask that you purchase a very inexpensive pair of earplugs available at any pharmacy. They usually run from $2 to $4 USD a pair.

You are invited to call us at Phoenix, Arizona area headquarters at 480 615-8900 or in the NYC/Long Island, New York area at 516 799-2274 with any questions. Ask us about creating a training class at your location (on-site.)

Make reservations on this website: www.DeafSensitivityTraining.com

Demo presentations of the class are periodically provided. Should you wish to see a demo, send an email requesting a date to DeafSensitivity@DeptofEd.org.  Request 4 dates/times, please.

Blindness separates people from things. Deafness separates people from people.
