Celebrated Film Director, Ken Loach, has confirmed that he will speak at the Ways Forward 5 national conference of co-operatives on Friday January 20th in Manchester's Central Hall.

Loach's films of renown include Palme D’Or winner, I Daniel Blake, Kes, Poor Cow, Riff-Raff, The Spirit of 45, Route Irish, Ladybird Ladybird and Land and Freedom plus TV productions such as Up the Junction and Cathy Come Home.

Not to forget the brilliant Manchester based "Looking for Eric" which featured supporter-owned co-operative FC United.

He will be talking about his work and its intended impact. Ken is a fervent campaigner for a radically progressive society and says that while the film, Looking for Eric, raised many issues about football, alongside sit messages about approaches to life in general.

This afternoon will be the closing plenary session  for the annual co-op conference, organised by Co-operative Business Consultants. The conference aim to discuss and debate co-operative and radical alternatives to austerity and capitalism and help shape our shared vision of a prosperous, caring society based on a democratic economy. 

Who Should Attend? Film, media and creative workers, students, co-operators, trade unionists, activists from anti austerity parties and social enterprises, and everyone looking to shape new progressive practice and policies to combat the austerity agenda and create a society in which all can prosper.
