Razor-Sharp Slink: Technique and Combinations Class – 11am – 1pm, Saturday 9th November Partial Approval - €45.00

Executing slow, controlled and sustained movement is something many of us aspire to yet can be so difficult to achieve. This workshop will begin with working on new lines and pathways moving at molasses slow speed with ultra clean technique. We will take our slink and combine it with some pops, locks and contrasting movements that create striking combinations.

Fluidity in Motion, 2pm – 4pm, Saturday 9th November Partial Approval - €45.00

The focus in this class is deepening one's connection to the floor and ability to move outside of their personal space. This workshop will focus on not only on foot patterns but will cover how to gain balance and grace while traveling across the floor. We will begin with a modern and ballet influenced warm-up to focus on proper alignment and move on to traveling foot patterns across the floor. Several complex foot patterns will be drilled and eventually building on top of them adding isolations and arm work.

Effortless Shimmies with Layers – 11am – 1pm, Sunday 10th November Partial Approval - €45.00

This drill class is a great starting point for beginners and an excellent way to re-work shimmies for intermediate/advanced dancers. Class will begin with the foundation for traveling and move onto various types of shimmies and adding some creative layers. Each student can cater the class to work for them at whatever level they may be at.

Body Geometry – 2pm – 4pm, Sunday 10th November Partial Approval - €45.00

Dance is all about creating shapes with the body. In this workshop we will focus on manipulating basic shapes with the body to order to create unique lines, angles and silhouettes. Considering spatial transformation, symmetrical vs. asymmetrical movement, time and dynamics, students will be given tools to use these concepts to create their own movements phrases.

BIOGRAPHY 

 

Kami has studied various dance styles throughout her life, but found her true passion, Belly Dance, when she was 18 years old. She has studied cabaret style belly dance then found Fat Chance Belly Dance Tribal Style. She began to perform as a soloist incorporating other styles into her ATS repertoire such as modern, hip hop, jazz and Bhangra dance. After earning her degree in Art with a Minor in Dance from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2005, she decided to pursue her passion full time and since then has performed and taught in over 20 countries. Kami toured with the Bellydance Superstars for 6 years and was a contributing choreographer as well as the director of the Tribal Superstars. She is based out of San Francisco, CA and currently tours the world as a solo artist and occasionally with tours with Beats Antique www.kamiliddle.com
