Junior Sailing Program (ages 11-18)

A great opportunity for children to learn and practice small boat sailing skills. Students who are comfortable sailing on their own will continue to advance their skills.  Older students should still be attending high school to participate in the Junior Program.

·    The program runs 2 weeks (10 classes)

·    Class size is limited to 25 students. Refunds will be offered if a session is cancelled due to low enrollment.

·  Class starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.

All students must have a life jacket with attached whistle, sneakers, clothes they are comfortable getting wet in, and a change of clothes. Water-resistant sunscreen is recommended.

Junior students need to be picked up promptly as adult supervision may not always be available following class.

Cancellation policy

$50 cancellation fee applies only if the space cannot be filled by another student by start of session.

Otsego Sailing Club

The Otsego Sailing Club, Inc., is a non-profit organization of sailboat owners who have mutual interests in sailing and sailboat racing. It was founded to encourage recreation and competitive sailing, to promote safety in sailing and all associated activities, and to promote good sportsmanship. The club traces its roots to the summer of 1961 when five families sailed together on Otsego Lake. That fall they organized the Otsego Sailing Club. By-laws were written and race and social programs organized. The support that the club received from Harry Cook was one of the key factors that assured its future. For several years he permitted the club to rent part of his land. He then sold to the club the property it now owns. We have prospered over the years because of the good will and cooperative spirit of our members. Membership includes obligations and responsibilities in order to ensure the continuance of the club.
